San Francisco Giants defeat the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-2
Headed over to AT&T Park for the first game in the critical series between the San Francisco Giants and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Matt Cain faced off against Joe Saunders.
In first inning, D-backs scored a run, and ended the inning with bases loaded. Not quite the way Giants wanted to start the game.
But in the bottom of the third, with two outs, Cody Ross walked, then Jeff Keppinger doubled and batted in Ross.
Then Carlos Beltran hit a home run to bat in Keppinger.
Giants kept the lead, with matching runs in the 5th. And two more runs in the 7th for a 6-2 victory over the Diamondbacks.
D-backs ended up changing pitchers between Brad Ziegler (yep, same one who used to pitch for the A's earlier this season)
Sam Demel
Joe Paterson
and Ryan Cook
Giants needed just Matt Cain and Santiago Casilla.
A great win for the Giants!
