My sister starts her new job tomorrow so my family and I took a little day trip to the Conservatory of Flowers. It's tucked away in Golden Gate Park and is FREE the first Tuesday of the month!
You think of the term "live art" as performance artists, but the plants here are truly living art. Each gallery is a different tropical region.
If I ever found myself stranded in a rainforest, I would undoubtedly be just as terrified of these plants as Christopher Walken was of his indoor plants. (Check out the Hulu video here)
One of the highlights is their special exhibit. The Golden Gate Express Garden Train! A model train that travels around a miniature San Francisco. It was like Disneyland's Storybook Land, but all the components were recycled and repurposed materials. So Cool!! It will be there until April 2010 so check it out.
Congratulations to my sister and her new job! =)
