I was familiar with the gym because when I lived in San Francisco, I used the unlimited gym access of PE 50 ($75 for the semester) as my personal gym. I remember the facility being really new and nice, but from a photographer perspective, it was amazing! This is the only court I've seen that doesn't really need to be strobed because there's so much beautiful natural light. Amazing!
This was really exciting for me because this is the first sport I've photographed that I've also participated in at some kind of (beyond recreational) competitive level. You're looking at Vaca High's co-captain and #1 ranked doubles player with my partner Allison Miller. Oh yeah, that's right! Go Bulldogs!
This is the best picture I could find of me actually playing, all you can see is the "COX" on my back haha.
Was fun to see that all ages can participate in intercollegiate sports at the community college level. I've definitely decided in my future, I'm going to enroll in some CC classes and try out for the badminton team. Still have my racket, need to get back on my game =)
