USA Water Polo Olympic Fundraiser

Headed over to the Olympic Club in San Francisco for the USA Water Polo fundraiser for their Olympic efforts.

On hand were three women's national team players.

Including the Steffens sisters, Maggie and Jessica

Three time (and likely will be four time next year) olympian and FINA aquatics world magazine female water polo player of the DECADE, Brenda Villa.

And the women's team coach, Adam Krikorian.

On the men's side Peter Varellas.

With Christ Dorst as the MC for the evening.

Any many other notable members of the water polo family.

Guests were able to try on some of the medals too, pretty neat!

I had been to the O-club golf course when I photographed the event for the Northern California Special Olympics, but I had never been to their main base in the city and WOW what a beautiful place! You can imagine, a club that's been around since 1860 whose members have included William Randolph Hearst and just about every San Francisco socialite.

Was a great event for USA Water Polo. It's crazy to think how far the sport has come from the days when Christ Dorst said the advice from the trainer for injury was aspirin and there was no women's team!

But the travel, equipment, staff and training, all require money. If you would like to donate to their olympic efforts please go to their website at: https://webpoint.usawaterpolo.com/wp/transactions/donate.asp

Cal State East Bay 50th Anniversary BBQ

Headed over to Cal State East Bay today for their 50th Anniversary barbecue for their athletics program.

It was a great event for families, friends, players and coaches to reconnect.

CSU East Bay President was there with his wife.

And spoke on reconnecting with the alumni/athletic community

Was cute to see this baby all squirmy.

Then kissed.

And suddenly he was happy!

I'm looking forward to covering more events for Cal State East Bay. Been missing the campus, and soccer field from when I photographed FC Gold Pride there last season.

Big thanks to Anna-Oleson Wheeler who I worked with at Cal who connected me to Kelly Hayes at CSU East Bay!

High Tech Challenge Olympic Club Golf Tournament - Special Olympics Northern California

Headed over to the beautiful Olympic Club Golf Course in San Francisco for the 34th Annual High Tech Golf Challenge benefiting Special Olympics of Northern California - SONC.

I arrived early to take some shots of people signing in.

On the putting green.

And at the driving range.

It was awesome to see the athletes, like Lindsay, proudly displaying their medals.

Then one of the athletes, Stephanie gave a speech to all the golfers. I asked her if she was nervous before and she replied "Nope! I just went to the bathroom to fix my hair, I've practiced my speech and I'm ready! They better stand up!" I WISH I had that much confidence.

When she gave her speech she shouts the Special Olympics oath and had the golfers repeat after her "Let me win; but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt"

Then it was time for some golf!!

Do you think you have to be hands-free on a golf cart? ;-)

But a minor traffic jam as the hundreds of golfers went about the course in the scramble format.

Jennifer Klein was there with her crew for Photos in a Flash taking pictures of each group of four and making prints on site for them to take home.

This freed me up to take some action shots of the players golfing.

Including some of the SONC athletes. At the athlete hole, Charlie was at, they had a deal if his ball ended in a better spot than yours, you could use his ball instead. And I heard a good number of golfers took advantage of that. I know I would have had to!

Was such a great event for an even better cause!

Big thanks to Ilisa Kessler who I worked with at the now defunct FC Gold Pride, now the VP of Marketing and Strategic Initiatives with SONC and reached out to me to start working with them. Looking forward to many more events in the future!

Indeeyo Launch Party

Sometimes (who am I kidding, all the time) there are perks to being friends with fabulous fashionable people of the blogosphere. KC Fox, who you've all grown to know and love as Thrifty Solutions for an Urban Gal, was invited to the Indeeyo launch party at ZAZA Nail Spa by Jeanne Chan of ShopSweetThings.com and was able to extend that invitation to me, sweet!

Indeeyo.com is marketed as a new online destination for unique clothing, gifts and accessories representing both indie labels and well established brands. One quick peek at their site and you'll see everything is swoon worthy. With prices ranging from $25 to almost $400, there's certainly some steals and splurges to be found.

The launch included complimentary mini manis and champagne, yes please!

What a treat to have Lina make my nails so prettttttty!

Also delicious cakepop delights!

We also had a chance to meet and greet with not only the founder Jasmin and bag designer Bryna Nicole!

Talk about a fabulous night in the city! Thanks to KC, Jeanne, Jasmin, and all the lovely people I met tonight for making it such an enjoyable evening!

Best wishes to Indeeyo as the brand and business reaches new levels of success!
